Moving Along.
I believe I have a habit of simplifying things down and by doing so making them more time consuming or just all together more difficult. On our trip home from Montana I talked to Jason in great lengths about how I was going to go about tackling the house and what I was going to pack first. I had my list and my plan set for packing. It was a piece of cake in my mind, no problem. I was thinking that it was *shrug* no problem, hah. The truth is no matter how organized I thought I was, how much I thought I had downsized, or how much “stuff” I thought I had gotten rid of when we moved in this home….. I was sorely mistaken. How does one go about acquiring all of these things. I just keep telling myself, wait until we get to Washington, things are going to fall into place. A new studio, a new home, wonderful opportunities and then I open my eyes and look at the work ahead of me. Maybe I am just feeling a little grouchy since I haven’t been able to create anything lately. We have been packing and garage selling, packing, garage selling repeat, repeat hahaha. I think we have made some head way.
We have packed everything in the main living room. The only thing left to do in this room is to take the curtain rods down, patch and paint.
All the pictures have been taken off the walls and are ready to be bubble wrapped.
I even have some empty cupboards in the kitchen. We are getting there…. I think. If not, don’t tell me hahahah
I am taking the morning off from packing and organizing. I am going to indulge and sit here with my cup of coffee and read my favorite blogs.
Have a wonderful day!

If you can’t tell from the spelling and wording in my last post, I have had a lot on my plate while we have been vacationing. Jason and I have decided to put our home in Illinois up for sale and move back to my home state Washington. When we made the decision I could have done back flips I was so excited, but now I am just plain frustrated. We have 3 dogs now. Two yorkies and a pit bull. yes I know I showed pictures of my chihuahua, but she is no longer living with us. It unfortunately didn’t work out. So anyway we want to find a rental so we can take our time, get caught up and find what we really want as far as buying. YEAH RIGHT! OMG Even if we find a rental that we love, they say “we would like to find someone without pets” GRRRRRR we are looking in Wenatchee Washington and the rentals are going like hot cakes. I cannot believe it, we leave the day after tomorrow to go home put the house on the market and start packing. I would feel so much better knowing that we had a place to go to before we left here, but I am starting to think that isn’t happening. I am like a little kid, I have my fingers, toes and legs crossed with my eyes squeezed shut hoping that we find the perfect little place!
To make matters worse the newspaper doesn’t come out here until noon!! What in the world! So that means from the time I get up at 7am to 12:30 I have to keep myself busy busy in order to not go crazy until I get the classifieds. My pattern making has reached a whole new level!! I even made my very first keychains and I finsihed a whole bag yesterday! It is a little gloomy here today so I will post pictures soon! Hope everyone is doing well!!

Yes those are my feet. LOL. I woke up with a long list of things to do yesterday, but Jason had different plans. Our car had to go into the shop for some repairs before our big trip to Washington in two weeks and Jason wanted to drive the rental car…. *shaking my head* men! The truth is lately I have been feeling kind of down, I miss home. Home for me is on the west coast. I miss Washington and Oregon, the midwest is sometimes very difficult for me. Jason knows that I have a love for historical towns and the “feel” that they have, so he did his research and told me “we’re playing hookie”. What? I have purses to make, websites to finish, I have important things to do… nope not today. He surprised me by taking me to St. Charles Missouri a two hundred year old town right on the Mississippi. Oh my, it was adorable. Ten blocks of unique boutiques, overflowing flower pots, brick buildings covered in ivy, brick roads, gas lamp posts, verandas filled with people eating, the smell of hyacinths mixed with incense, I was in heaven. I didn’t want to come home, but he made me ;)

House cleaning… what? hahah I came across this wonderful blog Made By Molly I saw these adorable little pouches that she makes, so I thought why not try my hand at it… So I did. I was supposed to be house cleaning and well seeing the photos below you can tell how that went. It was a lot more fun to sew hahahah. Ok so I did do a little house cleaning, I cleaned off my sewing machine :)

Inspiration From Spring
I haven’t messed with my jewelry stuff for a long time, but today the sun was shining, the birds were chirping and I just felt like it hahaha. So I made these earrings with the inspiration from spring. They remind me of the buds that are on my rhododendron outside my window. I made them with sterling silver of course, rose quartz, red garnet, swarovski crystals and freshwater pearls. They will be available in my etsy store, if I don’t keep them for myself

What I have been up to…
I have been a little busy bee…. I just didn’t like how my sewing room looked. It didn’t feel right. Whenever I would start to work on a project I would end up spending more time trying to re-arrange my room. I think my main problem was I didn’t like how cluttered it was and it was too dark. So…. one night as I was laying in bed it hit me! I have these awesome cabinets in my basement that came with the house. They are the orignial kitchen cabinets from 80 years ago. So it seems only right to breathe new life into them and give them a place in our home. I repainted my walls a color called “cracker bitz” and mixed into the paint granite glitter crystals. When the light hits it, it has a soft shimmer to it. It is just beautiful. I making new curtains. Painted the cabinets a dark gold color, put new handles on. Cut down my peg board to a smaller size, painted it the darker gold color as well… hmmm I have done a lot more too, but I am still working on it. I can’t wait to show you all when it is finished!! Here are my photos of the “before” I can’t belive I am posting these… well here it goes…. ( by the way I have been working on this room for about a week now!!)
This is my room in the middle of the remodel. The color on the walls is new! It’s the paint that shimmers!!
This desk was my father in laws. He passed away 2 years ago. I feel honored that I get to have it, I just love it. I know he would be happy to see it put to good use.
This is the original kitchen cabinet that was mounted to the wall down in the basement. It is 80 years old. The outside looks good. The inside well.. you’ll see
Not so good….
I don’t think these shelves were ever cleaned! Wait until you see what I have done to them!!! Oh I can’t wait to finish!!!
Oh, and here is me. Yes all those stuffed animals are Webkinz. I have an addiction. My mother and I are totally and completely inlove with them!! They are taking over my desk, so they will be moving up to my sewing room as soon as I finish.
I am off to do some more work on my room. I hope to post the finished product soon! I can’t wait to dive into sewing!
Have a wonderful day!!
Filed under Random Thoughts | Comments (5)The dust is settling…. Finally
Well I would be lying if I said that I am sad the holidays are over. This past holiday season, I thought it would never end. I am not a very forgetful person by nature, but during the holidays whew I can’t remember anything. Needless to say I happy to have all of my decorations down. I took my tree down on Christmas day, seriously. We were just so ready to have it done. Although I am still picking up the house and getting it back rearranged how I like it, I am finallly gettting back into my creative swing of things. I am sooo happy to be back in my blogging world! I have missed everyone so much. I am really looking forward to a wonder year of crafting!!
Ok, I also have to share that over my “christmas break” I picked up a new addiction. Yes, Yes you heard me. I am addicted to Webkinz. My mother told me one evening on our marathon phone conversation that she had been playing for over a year and how much fun she has. She invites her granddaughters to her webkinz home and they plays games. So the very next morning I was at the store buying my very first webkinz. Well, I have been playing for about 2 weeks and I know have 8!! Yes 8 webkinz, with 2 more on the way from ebay! Now everynight my mother and I are on the phone while we are playing webkinz. I know, how hilarious is that! But we just have a blast!
Oh yes. I decieded to try something new. You see, my mother is very very good putting together beautiful flower arrangements, so I thought I would try my hand at it. Here is my arrangement that I made. Not to sound full of myself, but I think it turned out beautifully!

This is our newest edition, Loki. Named after the Norris God of Mischief and living 150% up to that name. The first week we had her she ripped wallpaper off the wall, chewed up my baseboard trim, shredded a curtain so I moved her cage and she shredded another curtain. She is a nightmare and a bundle of love all wrapped into one.
That cute face is just a front, trust me.
See, she’s warmer up, getting ready for her next attack.
There is the mischievious little monster face.
Filed under Random Thoughts | Comments (3)Sweet Tooth
For about the past year my husband and I have banned sweets from the house. It’s not a diet, more of a lifestyle that we have adopted. I am a chocolate addict. It was just easier to cut it out completely than to have it around the house. Well everynight after dinner I get a really bad sweet tooth. Usually I am really good about it. Last night I just couldn’t handle it. I knew we didn’t have anything in the house…. so I went online searching. I threw what I had together (which was nothing) and came up with this berry pie. Literally I had one pie crust, 1 bag frozen mixed berries, 2 frozen bags blueberries and 1 bag frozen strawberries. I combined two recipes together and came up with this crumbled top crust. It actually turned out really good. I calculated that each slice was about 250 calories. No butter and only a 1/2 cup sugar for the whole thing. I am a huge calorie counter, it’s worked really good for me, I have lost 28lbs! So anyway this was a nice treat, I never get to do this. So husband and I sat down with some coffee (decaf of course, it was late) and enjoyed a sweet treat.
I have never tried a cumbled top crust like this, I think it turned out really well. With the berries it tasted like a pop tart. It was from one of Emrils recipes. I think it was 2 cups flour, 1/2 cup sald oil, 3 tablespoons milk and 3 tsp sugar. Yeah that sounds right.
Since we couldn’t wait, the pie was still warm so it didn’t hold it’s form very well. Thats ok it was delicious. I wished we would have had some vanilla ice cream, but it was wonderful without it.
Hmm, I think we liked it. Hahah. Can you tell we don’t get dessert very often? hahahah. It was nice to enjoy the a treat with my husband with the christmas trees lit up, snow outside, cozied up by the fire with warm pie and coffee. We really enjoyed it.
